We Watch — We Call – free lawn signs support safe neighborhoods!
02/01/2010

We Watch-We Call - for Safe Neighborhoods is a public safety initiative of the 4th Precinct CARE Task Force and the lawn signs are popping up all over and not just on the Northside. We Watch - We Call lawn signs are free for residents to stake in their yards or hang in their windows to send the message that neighbors are working together to keep their blocks crime and problem free. Keep in mind that putting up a sign is not enough - the second part of the message of We Watch is - We Call! You and your neighbors have to make the call to 911 or 311 for non-criminal complaints. It is not enough to put a sign in your yard and expect that things will change, although a block of signs that signal the intent for a safe neighborhood might be a deterrent to bad behavior. We Watch - We Call is about people taking action and it is one way to say that you are invested in your block and in your neighborhood. If you and other residents on your block are interested in We Watch-We Call, call 612-521-2100. The We Watch-We Call website is officially launched! It's a simple web page where people can post their stories about using/having the sign. Here's the official address(s): http://wewatchwecall.com or http://wewatchwecall.org.
