Yes, construction is well underway at the southeast corner of Penn and Lowry. Penn-Lowry Crossings should be completed by the end of the year with a new 32,000 square foot commercial retail development (the major tenant will be an Aldi’s grocery store) and a 14,000 square foot renovation of the current Family Dollar Store. It will be a signature redevelopment on the new Lowry Corridor. In 2008-2009, Hennepin County will complete the western half of the Lowry Corridor project. Penn-Lowry Crossings will anchor a complete rebuild of Lowry Avenue with enhanced boulevards, bike lanes and transit. The $7 million Penn-Lowry Crossing development, coupled with the Lowry Corridor project, will continue the renaissance of the Camden area. Photo by Randy Klauk.
