Need to vote absentee?
10/01/2008
Election Day is November 4. If you can't make it to the polls to vote, absentee ballots are available beginning Friday, Oct. 3. You can apply for an absentee ballot if: You're going to be absent from the precinct on Election Day; illness or disability prevents you from going to a polling place; religious discipline or observance prohibits you from going to a polling place; or you are an election judge in another precinct.
Applications and absentee ballots are available at Minneapolis city offices or go to "Absentee ballot application" at www.hennepin.us/elections.
Apply soon to get your ballot and mail it back so that it is delivered no later than Election Day. You also can drop off your ballot at your city office no later than 5 p.m. on the evening before Election Day. City offices also will be open especially for absentee voting on the Saturday before Election Day (Nov. 1). For general voting info call 612-348-5151.
