Let’s save the Earth

Protecting the earth has always been in vogue and vital. At the dawn of the Industrial Revolution the river Thames, which runs through London, was filthy. Today, it’s a tourist attraction. People native to the America’s considered the Earth their mother. Their culture factored in its protection at all levels of their consciousness. Our planet is our home, provider of our needs and so far the only habitable place we know of in the universe.
As a species humans are unique in that we could bring the Earth’s ecosystem down. Preferably, through our actions, we want to affect our planet with sustainable and clean solutions. As our economy becomes more global, plants and animals are being mixed together at a rate formally unheard of. Emerald Ash Bore, Zebra Mussels and Asian Milfoil are recent examples of detrimental effects. The solution to limiting their negative impact squarely rests on the correct human response. We hope and encourage national leaders to craft policies that take on a global philosophy with far-sighted objectives.
As individuals what can we do? Recognize that the only reliable energy source the Earth has is the sun. Whether we burn gas, use electricity or pedal bikes, the energy source ultimately comes from the sun. Our minds should be open to changing behaviors that are detrimental to the Earth. For example, leaving fossil fuel vehicles in our past and returning to energy efficient alternatives. Conserve our resources thru recycling and changes in behavior that put conserving above conveniences. Love and respect our bodies so that we are healthy and positive and able to work with nature as stewards of the Earth. Respect all the other life forms in terms of their space and biological needs. For example, 1000-pound sharks are harvested for their fins while they are still alive. Upon being released in the water they are unable to swim, so they cannot breath and then die. Recognize with all of our environmental problems that the idea of wars should become obsolete. Wars are an epiphany of man’s cruelty to man, and take no regard to the condition of the Earth. Lastly, open your eyes and see what a wonderful planet we share; with all of its essential components that require our stewardship. Smell the wondrous aromas of life on Earth and love it.
