Hmong Partnership celebrates new site

The Hmong American Partnership (HAP) has a brand-new location in Camden at 1206 42nd Ave. N and invites neighbors and everyone interested to an open house on Thursday, August 13 from 4-6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served and a short informational program will begin at 5 p.m. For info about the open house or HAP services call 612-377-6482.
The HAP Minneapolis Office primarily serves Minnesota Family Investment Program recipients in Hennepin County. The Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) is a comprehensive work-focused program that assists low income families to become self-sufficient through work. HAP works with MFIP participants to develop a customized plan that will prepare them to find and keep employment. HAP participants are further supported with transportation, child care assistance, computer and internet access, resume help, practice interviewing, referrals to job skills training courses, job search, placement and follow-up assistance, and individualized plans to help participants find work.
HAP can also provide access to its other programs, such as: homeownership and foreclosure prevention counseling; personal financial education; assistance with independent living for elders; runaway and youth intervention; after school programs; and youth mentorship opportunities.
Hmong American Partnership is a social service and community development organization whose mission is to empower the community to embrace the strengths of our cultures while achieving our potential. HAP was established in 1990 to address the needs of Minnesota's growing Hmong population. Since its inception, HAP has expanded to serve community members from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic groups. HAP provides employment services, education and training, elderly services, and youth and family services to more than 2,500 community members annually.
