Fun site to check out
02/01/2009
If you've ever wondered where your neighborhood's name came from, neighborhood zoning or how your neighborhood compares to others in population, income or housing values, there's an interesting website that the city offers. Check out www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/neighborhoods/index.asp. There you'll find the neighborhood profie pages.
The site presents trend information using selected census figures for all the neighborhoods in Minneapolis. Graphs are shown for each neighborhood comparing data for 1980, 1990 and 2000, and the figures are frequently compared to data for the City of Minneapolis. Each profile includes: Location, general characteristics, census information about the population, census information about households, census information about labor, census information about income, census information about poverty, census information about housing, a base map of the neighborhood, a zoning map of the neighborhood and a land use map of the neighborhood.
