Don’t miss the Northside housing fair

On Saturday, March 3, the second North Housing and Home Improvement Fair will be held at North High School between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Planning members included neighborhood residents from all parts of north Minneapolis, Center for Energy and Environment and Community Education have met over the last several months to produce this event as an opportunity to provide resources and connections for individuals who wish to call our community “Home.”
A diverse selection of contractors, lenders, real estate specialists and community organizations will be exhibitors at the fair to work with current and prospective homeowners in purchasing, maintaining or improving a home. In addition, nine seminars are planned with topics such as “Renter to Owner,” “Green Remodeling” and “Foreclosure Prevention” aimed at providing residents with resources to make informed housing decisions.
Minneapolis Public Schools’ Community Education will host the birdhouse building for youth during the event and the Camden Lions are setting up their kitchen again this year to raise funds for their activities. Come early, meet new friends and enter to win one of the exhibitor-donated door prizes. Entrances are located on the south and west sides via doors 28, 29 or 1 at North High School, 1501 James Avenue North.
