Celebrating a much needed asset
Celebrating a much needed asset

With a U of M Empowerment Grant (which focused on empowering citizens with disabilities), the Lind Bohanon Neighborhood Association (LBNA) recently held a bench ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the hard work and success of residents at Kingsley Commons. LBNA, in partner-ship with Kingsley Commons and Shingle Creek Commons, worked with MPRB Commissioner Jon Olson, Creekview Park’s Jason Green, Common Bond’s Tim Crumley, Kingsley Commons’ Jenifer Scherer and Ella Magstad, to help residents with disabilities identify issues and concerns in the community and empower them to address them. One of the top issues identified by Kingsley Common’s residents was having a bench on the southside of Humboldt so residents waiting for the long trains could have a comfortable place to rest. Thanks go to the many folks who worked hard at getting this asset for the community.
