After
a trip to Cuba in 2010 band founder Doug Little formed La Gran Charanga,
an ensemble that mirrors the super star Cuban bands that play every
night in Havana.
The
band features a powerful array of musicians from top Twin Cities salsa
bands such as Sencación Latina, Charanga Tropical and Salsabrosa, and
a rich instrumentation including horns, violins, singers and a full
Latin rhythm section.
Fans
of the band have described their music as "undeniably engaging,"
"remarkably refreshing," "intriguing, danceable,"
and "astoundingly delicious." It'll truly be a movin'
evening on the Drive.
Pack
a picnic, invite your friends and bring your neighbors. This is a delightful
way to celebrate summer together. Concert-goers are encouraged to save
gas and walk or roll to the concert.

on the Drive is presented by founding partner, North Memorial, with
