Share Your Garden on the Victory Garden Tour
Many beautiful and unique gardens flourish in the Victory Neighborhood and it is apparent that our resident gardeners take great pride in their gardens and in their neighborhood. The second annual Victory Garden Tour on August 1 will offer an opportunity for them to share their gardens with the rest of the community. We hope to have a variety of gardens from all corners of the neighborhood on the tour. If you are willing to open your garden for viewing please call or email the ViNA office for an application. Don't worry if your garden is not "finished" or "ready" because we know that a garden is never done, it is always evolving, growing and changing. No matter what stage your garden is in, it can be a source of enjoyment and inspiration for others, so please fling open the garden gate on August 1.
New Residential Energy Program Coming to Victory
The Victory Neighborhood Association has teamed up with the Center for Energy and the Environment (CEE), the City of Minneapolis, CenterPoint Energy and Xcel Energy to offer Victory homeowners Community Energy Services. Community Energy Services provides free workshops to learn how to lower your energy use and save money and customized home energy visits from professionals who will identify additional ways residents can lower their energy costs including a blower door test. They also provide low cost materials, which may include setback thermostats, compact fluorescent light bulbs, gasket seals, low flow showerheads and more. This is up to $400 of services and materials provided for only a $30 co-pay; however thanks to the Victory Neighborhood Association the first 100 Victory homeowners who register will pay only $20!
