National Night Out is Coming on August 3, are you ready!?!
The McKinley neighborhood has a proud tradition of strong block clubs and we want that tradition to continue, so start planning your National Night Out event now! If you are a CCP/SAFE sanctioned block club, register your event now by calling 311 and ask for Jennifer Waisanen or register online at www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/nno. The McKinley Community will give each registered block club a $100 Cub Foods gift certificate to help cover costs for the event. If you would like to become a block club leader let us know and we can help you with this simple process. Forming a block club and meeting your neighbors is the surest and most cost effective way to stop crime in our neighborhoods, and we need your help!

Want to Buy a House To Live In? The McKinley Home Ownership Forgivable Loan Program is Available
Interested in buying a home in the McKinley neighborhood or do you know someone who is? Help is now available. The McKinley Community can provide a forgivable home loan for use with down payment and closing cost assistance to anyone who buys a home in the McKinley Community with the intent to live in that home. The loan amount is up to $2000 with another $2000 matched by the Family Housing Fund for a total of $4000. If you receive the McKinley loan and stay in the property for at least five years, you will owe nothing (see loan guidelines for repayment schedule). The McKinley Community has a great home improvement loan that is managed by Center for Energy and the Environment and carries an interest rate of only 3%! The application process is easy and loan amounts can be between $2000 and $15,000.
