FIREWORKS - Be a Good Neighbor! Neighbors shooting off fireworks can be extremely disruptive, especially when homes are close to each other, people are trying to sleep and pets are frightened. Fireworks can also be very dangerous. Be careful this summer and make sure you know what's legal and what's not in Minneapolis.

Legal: Examples include sparklers, cones, tubes that spark, snakes, party poppers. You may use them in your yard or on your sidewalk.

Not legal: Fireworks that go "boom" or take off; firecrackers, bottle rockets, missiles, roman candles, mortars and shells. It is illegal to use any fireworks on public property, including roads, alleys, schools and parks.

Call 911 to report illegal fireworks: Please provide the exact address and a description of the person or people setting off the fireworks.

Don't miss the two remaining "Live on the Drive" free concerts in July and August: The concerts begin at 6 p.m. at 34th and Xerxes Ave. N. July 8 - "Sweet Colleens" - an all-male group that plays Celtic folk-rock and alternative country/Americana. August 12 is "Seven Steps to Havana." This group combines rhythmic salsa with the richness of jazz. The rain date policy: In the event of rain, a decision will be made by 2 p.m. to cancel the event. You may call 612-588-1155 to inquire if the weather is questionable.

North United Methodist Church hosts its annual Ice Cream Social on Thursday, July 22, 5-8 p.m. (church parking lot - 42nd and Fremont Ave. N.)

Dog Park at Victory Prairie: Both you and your dog will love the new dog park that opened at Victory Prairie located at 47th and Sheridan Avenue North. Come, join us for the grand opening celebration on Saturday, July 24, at 10 a.m.
