Save energy and save money!
07/01/2010
Learn how to reduce your energy use and save money. The Center for Energy and the Environment is introducing Community Energy Services, a partnership with the City of Minneapolis, CenterPoint Energy and Xcel Energy to the Folwell, McKinley, Webber-Camden, Shingle Creek and Lind Bohanon neighborhoods.
Community Energy Services provides: Free educational workshops to teach homeowners how to lower their energy use and save money; low-cost materials which may include low flow showerheads, setback thermostats, compact fluorescent light bulbs, gasket seals, door sweeps, faucet aerators and pipe wrap; customized home energy visits from qualified professionals who identify additional ways for residents to save in their homes, including a blower door test; up to $400 in services and materials for a co-pay of only $30; and personalized energy use inventory for the last 12 months and feedback for the next 12 months; and information on financing, incentives and rebates.
Workshops will be held on June 30, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Creekview Park Recreation Center (5001 Humboldt Ave N.) and July 13, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Folwell Park Recreation Center (1615 Dowling Ave N.).
